About My Header

I chose my header picture because it portrays healthy food with the Rutgers logo, so people have a visual of healthy foods and of Rutgers University. This header sums up my website because by just looking at it, it is clear that it is healthy food with Rutgers.

I found the photo of healthy food on pixabay and I found the Rutgers logo on Flickr. I know that I am allowed to use both of these images because I used Creative Commons search, which allows me to reuse these photos.

To make my header, I used Pixlr Editor. I had to find photos that would be large enough to cover the whole space of the Header, so they didn’t look stretched. Once I found my photos, I downloaded them into the editing website. I used layering to make my Header, so I can have both healthy food and Rutgers University in my Header, so, people can understand my website with this visual aid. I rearranged the photos to the way I liked best. I moved them around so both photos would fit in the Header and so that it would look good.

My production process is different than a single-layer bitmap because I didn’t simply copy and paste my image. Because I used the photo editor, all of the colors from the original photo are in the one on my Header, and nothing is erased from my image. “The quality of a bitmap’s color is determined by ‘bit-depth’ or how much information is allotted to each pixel” (Davison).
